Everyone wants to travel around the world, right? How does a luxury trip sound? Warm beaches, exotic outlets, fine restaurants, 5-star service, hammocks and fruit umbrella drinks. Who can resist?
Of course there is one small problem – the outrageous prices that made the dream of a cruise vacation out of reach for 90% of people. But there is hope. I'm here to help you find the ultimate cruise deals. Wholesale prices, incentive trips, and even F.R.E.E trip now and then in tricks. My goal is to show you how to plan, find, book, and enjoy a free lifetime vacation with a limited budget, be it your first or tenth flight.
Be sure to check out this month's hottest tips, secrets, and tricks the travel industry doesn't want you to know about how to get a great marine travel package.
Here are 5 ideas to start finding the cheapest marine deals:
1) Go off season
Everyone and their brother are planning a cruise in spring or early summer. Think of the spring break as you will find crowds. The cruise industry will not offer any good deals for cruises during its busy season because they simply do not have to. Expect a 20-30% cheaper fare for off-season cruises.
Bonus: airline ticket prices will also be cheaper during the less traveled months, saving you an extra portion of the money.
2) Consider reorganizing
These cruises are greatly reduced because the cruise line simply moves the boat from one home port to another. They have to take this trip regardless of the number of passengers who have registered. You'll get fewer ports – but if you're a true cruise lover, the extra days at sea won't be much of a burden. You can expect to save 40-60% on a daily basis on regular flights.
3) Skip the trip
Most cruises in the U.S. come from Florida and California, but did you know dozens of other departure ports (from where you leave) are available? Unexpected destinations like New Orleans, Houston, Seattle, New Jersey, and even Mobile, AL offer few sea cruises annually. If you can ride a car somewhere within a short drive, how much will you save? Expect travel costs to and from the departure port, which will easily decrease $ 1,000 for a family of 4.
Bonus: Also, you won't have to worry about the hotel on either side of the cruise in this scenario.
4) Savings at the last minute
Often times if your schedule is flexible, good sea travel deals can be obtained in the past two months before departure. Think about it – the boat is going smoothly, the overheads are relatively fixed, so empty sitting rooms cost large non-refundable cruise lines. Subscribe to our newsletter email (cheapcruises.com, vacationstogo.com and travelzoo.com are my favorites) until you get priority notice for cruise deals.
5) Talk and cruise
If you've ever been on a cruise, then you know there is an endless array of leisure and educational opportunities on board. Everything from weaving an underwater basket, to drawing lessons, to seminars on wine tasting. Did you know that each of these providers and their families gets a free ride for a few hour-long sessions? Would you work for two hours to get a free cruise?
